Bridging the Darien Gap: Least Cost Paths

This Least Cost Path analysis estimates ideal routes for bridging the Darien Gap, hypothesizing roads from Yaviza, Panama to Apartado and Chigorodo, Columbia by calculating and assessing the costs incurred from developing steep and wet terrain. The results of the analysis are rendered in both 3D and 2D formats, highlighting the environmental obstacles presented by mountains and rain forest.
