Criminalizing Homelessness: No-Sidewalk-Camping

This analysis makes use of spatial joins to map a 500-foot buffer zone around all schools, bikeways, and parks and recreational facilities within the Echo Park Neighborhood Council district. The buffer zone encompasses the majority of all public space, and what little space that is left over is mainly private property. Implementing this policy effectively criminalizes homelessness in Echo Park.
